Lazy Friday is what my Friday was. I didn't apply my make-up, hence the sunnies shoots. I came up with a comfy outfit for the day because I had a couple of errands to run (fix my watch, get car fixed, visit parents). I asked my brother to accompany me and while driving around, we encountered a wall filled with graffiti. I immediately pulled over and asked my brother to snap some fotos. I thought they came out pretty good (he gets it from me (wink, wink)). I've been meaning to do a shoot with a graffiti background for my portfolio and now that I found one, I may ask my friend to tag along. Thirsty Thursday...that's what was on my mind. It was a hot day in Los Angeles Thursday. I was sweating while posing for photos of my outfit of the day. Slushies, snow cones, and cold water is what was on my mind. The plan for the day was to make it Hollywood for the a free show. But before heading to see The Airborne Toxic Event at the Jimmy Kimmel Live set, we took a detour to Paul Smith Ltd. on Melrose to use their fuschia wall as my background. After we finished out mini photo shoot, we headed to the show and it was fantastic. I really like their new single, "Changing." L.A. bands are AWESOME!!! After the show, we were craving crêpes from Crepês de Paris (formerly mentioned here) and drove to Brea. I came across this mini documentary on Delightfully Tacky's blog a couple of days ago. I saw it and immediately thought about posting and sharing it with everyone. It's about The Sartorialist's (a famous blogger) work and his everyday routine as he waltz on the streets and snaps photos of people's outfits. He is very good at what he does and I admire him.
Easter finally arrived!I decided to spend my first half with John and had lunch at The Local Place in Torrance, a King's Hawaiian Restaurant. Their Hawaiian Fried Chicken plate was awesome! I highly recommend it. After eating, I headed to my sister's house to see my nephew and help with their egg hunt. It was good to hang out with my nephew and my sisters...it's been a while since we've all come together. In other news, at 9:37 pm on Sunday, April 24th, KROQ aired "House" by The Remainers as part of their Locals Only show. They are also part of a poll and they need your help. You can vote for them here (scroll all the way down and select "House"). Saturday Night= Date Night. After having dinner at El Paso Cantina, we decided to walk it off by going to Third Street Promenade. It was perfect because John wanted to purchase a new pair of leather shoes and I wanted to window shop. Here is my outfit for the night: blouse, skirt: Target, shoes: Jeffrey Campbell, purse: Mango, rings: Forever 21, vintage photos by John.
John and I had the priviledge to had purchased tickets for the Railroad Revival Tour a few months ago and the day finally came. The day was filled with good live music by Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and Old Crow Medicine Show. It was held at Ports O'Call in San Pedro and the stage was set up in a parking lot. As soon as you walk in, it literally felt like a mini Coachella...people, food trucks, sitting on the floor, people dancing, hippies...I was happy that we had the chance to attend. All the band members had amazing skills playing the strings. The stage was filled with a variety of guitars (banjos, acoustic guitars, double bass) ...it was insane. (I am honestly a sucker for acoustic guitars). It was a bluegrass/country dancing party. Everyone had fun (they were singing along and dancing too). this is what I wore The Stage. Old Crow Medicine Show Edward Sharpe & the Magenectic Zeros Mumford and Sons Everyone joined at the end. dress, jacket: Cotton On, purse: thrifted, sandals: Target, necklace: Urban Outfitters, rings: Forever21 photos by John and me.
Another Thursday, another day off. While John is in Nashville, TN, my day started by watching Friday Night Lights Season 1 while getting ready for my day(outfit is below). I literally had nothing planned except for visiting my parent's home. While visiting my folks, I checked my phone for new notifications. I received an exciting fwd e-mail from my dear friend Jason. The e-mail stated that KROQ will be playing The Remainer's song "House" this Sunday, April 24th as part of the "Locals Only" show with Kat Corbett. I was super excited and proud of the band for their success. I can't wait for what's to come for this band. They deserve everything and more! As the sun was the setting, it was time to leave home and drive back to my cozy little room. I then checked Facebook and saw my friends (Jeremy, John, and Matt) were checked in at South Coast Soccer City and I immediately rushed to support them. (I kept meaning to attend a match and I finally had free time.) It was a very fast paced game and the team really needed to put more work. Although they lost the match, I know they will come through with a W soon. jacket: Cotton On; shirt: H&M; skirt, necklace, earings: Forever21; sandals: Target, clutch: American Apparel photos by Jesse V and me.

My friend invited a couple of us to attend an All White Party as part of a launch of a clothing line. This even took place at Las Palmas in Hollywood and it was my first All White Party. It was fun to see everyone wearing white and collaborate to make it a good party. photos by my friends and I. dress: Image, shoes: Steve Madden, clutch: American Apparel, necklace: Aldo
I was very disappointed and upset when Live Nation announced that Coachella was sold out this year. My heart literally sank to my stomach. It hurt even more because I wasn't able to make last year's either (I attended a wedding) and I've attended the event since 2006. I've been craving a music festival since last year and I didn't get to enjoy the Indio Polo Field this year. Since we (John and I) didn't want to spend an insane amount of money on wristbands for Chella this year, we looked into other festivals; Bonnaroo and Lollapaloza. After much thinking, we decided to purchase tickets for Lolla. Why? Because it is their 20th Anniversary and they are planning something special (so they say). Another reason why?...it's in Chicago (it's a major city that I would like to visit. It kinda kills two birds with one stone). So, in the spirit of Coachella, I am posting photos from past years that I attended. Hopefully I am lucky enough to purchase tickets on time next year. Coachella 2006
