If you can't catch me at home, work, shopping, or eating, then you can most likely find me at a show. I love live music. Free shows, festivals, paid shows...as long as it's live music...I'm there. I was able to go see The Raveonettes on Friday at The Troubadour as part of their new album tour. They were good and the crowd was really into them. I was glad they performed my favorite song "Forget that You're Young."
On a side note...can't wait 'til we go to Boston in two weeks. I've been craving an adventure out of California.

Thirsty Thursday...that's what was on my mind. It was a hot day in Los Angeles Thursday. I was sweating while posing for photos of my outfit of the day. Slushies, snow cones, and cold water is what was on my mind.
The plan for the day was to make it Hollywood for the a free show. But before heading to see The Airborne Toxic Event at the Jimmy Kimmel Live set, we took a detour to Paul Smith Ltd. on Melrose to use their fuschia wall as my background. After we finished out mini photo shoot, we headed to the show and it was fantastic. I really like their new single, "Changing." L.A. bands are AWESOME!!! After the show, we were craving crêpes from Crepês de Paris (formerly mentioned here) and drove to Brea.

John and I had the priviledge to had purchased tickets for the Railroad Revival Tour a few months ago and the day finally came. The day was filled with good live music by Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and Old Crow Medicine Show. It was held at Ports O'Call in San Pedro and the stage was set up in a parking lot. As soon as you walk in, it literally felt like a mini Coachella...people, food trucks, sitting on the floor, people dancing, hippies...I was happy that we had the chance to attend.
All the band members had amazing skills playing the strings. The stage was filled with a variety of guitars (banjos, acoustic guitars, double bass) ...it was insane. (I am honestly a sucker for acoustic guitars). It was a bluegrass/country dancing party. Everyone had fun (they were singing along and dancing too).

My friends and I attended the last Mondrian Session 2011, presented by KCRW, Thursday evening. Twin Sister was the band who performed inside the SPIN Hollywood at the Mondrian. It was a small place and filled with nifty people. There was no stage and it was a little hard to see the performance, but the music was loud and clear. Everyone danced (some danced a little too crazy).

After the live session, we all walked to Mel's Drive-In on the Sunset Strip. I ordered all the sweets that I've been longing for.
