After a few days of cold Californian weather (lower 50s), today the golden sun brought warmth back like a normal day (70s). I finally was able to wear this brand new skort and t-shirt from BooHoo, an English e-commerce website that sells ah-mazing items. I know I am a little late on this trend, but I managed to get my hands on one. Anyway, I wanted an "athletic" look, hence, my Nike FreeRuns (old). I love the sneaker trend...sneakers + your ootd = comfort.
p.s. these are my dogs...Chip & Spots

It has been about 3 months since moving in to our new home in Fairview Heights and we have finally explored a little. We went for a donut at a famous and award winning donut shop, Randy's Donuts. It is a well known "landmark" in Inglewood and has been featured in many shows. It's iconic and definitely a good backdrop (aside from having amazing donuts).
I styled my new houndstooth blouse from the clearance section at Target with a pleated skirt from Forever 21. Although I usually like to tuck in blouses when wearing skirts, I added a little edge by not doing so to focus on the style of the blouse and its autumn colors (Oxblood & Navy Blue). I love this look so much I am going to focus on adding more of these blouses to my wardrobe!

I was crushing on this "grid" pattern when I saw Heidi Klum wear a Tibi ensemble that was to die for. Unfortunately, the blouse and skirt have been sold out and I was going crazy searching for this pattern. It was last weekend that a friend was wearing a blouse from Forever 21 that was inspired from Tibi, except it was a button up, and I immediately went online searching every item. I then encountered the blouse that I am wearing here and ordered it! There are only size Large remaining now...but i love it!

Can I just say that I LOVE THIS BASEBALL CAP!!! It totally adds that OOMPH to this casual dress. Not to mention the bomber jacket...it makes it more sporty rather than casual. They are both definitely timeless pieces. Highly recommend you get your hands on one.

What inspired me for this look today was Jessica Alba's famous up do hairstyles. I've been in the mood for different hair styles and looked for inspiration. I came across her hair up-do's for the red carpet and fell in love. I you tubed videos on how to do it, but none worked for me (I have long and thick hair). I then decided to try my own way...did an imperfect pony tail and then rolled in the the tail upward and pinned. Then, I teased my hair up front and sprayed some hair spray. The result is what you see here...
Remember this sweater from the 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target collaboration? It seemed that it was not one of the popular items (don't know why). I loved it! The color block, the style...it screams for attention. Green & blue look good together if you know where to stop. In this case, I just used a similar blue to that of the sweater for the bottom making the green really pop. I would also wear this with some navy blue trousers (dressy). As far as shoes, again...here I go with my go-to heels...leopard. They go with everything...lol

You know how sometimes things are meant to be? Well, I finally got my hands on a "leather" baseball cap, thanks to my sister for spotting it at Forever 21. She said there were only a few left and she managed to get us some. Thanks, sis!
As far as styling goes, remember my last Currently Craving post? I suggested boyfriend jeans, a white blouse and a black bag...well, I channeled that vision (kinda). I made a few slight changes...wore a tee (old) instead of a blouse and black heels instead of silver. I thought it was a laid back look. Eventually I'll get to wearing it with a white blouse...and those silver heels.
p.s. I purchased this tee on Melrose in a shop called Happiness is a $10 tee. It is an inspired YSL tee.

This blazer has been on my mind ever since I saw it on Target's header on the women's clothing section online. It is just the right color pallet (too bad I missed the green one earlier this year). It was a mission to find this blazer locally. I didn't want to buy it online without trying it...turns out it runs big. Anyway, I'm glad I was able to find and used my Cartwheel app for the 20% discount (woot, woot)! So far, I haven't found the right jeans to wear as a laid back look, so I styled with it some shiny black leggings from H&M purchased a few years ago. I'm on a lookout for navy blue trousers as well to wear them with this jacket among other ones I have.
By the way, can we talk about mixing patterns!? I think that leopard print is like the "neutral" in the pattern game, which is why I wore my Steve Maddens (they're my go-to). I loved how it looked. Warning though...it may not go with every pattern (i.e. the glen plaid).
p.s. I was having a bad hair day...ugh!

I was at Target a few days ago and every time I go (well, most of the time), I like to check out the "clearance" clothing section. I stumbled upon this Xhilaration skirt and I knew I had to have it. The color, the style, not the mention the price...it was perfect to wear with a sweater (I liked Song of Style's look and it's been a little chilly lately here in LA). Also, these earrings were a score! They were also on clearance and they resemble some of Bauble Bar's jewelry. Overall, it was a great day for bargain finds.
One more thing...this 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target sweater is on clearance as well. Yay!

What are your thoughts about concert t-shirts? I find them to be a great way to support the artist (or band). I also like that you can keep them as souvenirs for the future...you know..like the vintage Rolling Stones and The Beatles, but I also like them because they can make a great way to add character to your casual pants..like in this case. I wore it to contrast the chic pants and add that "bad ass" touch to the ensemble. Also, a necklace is a great way to make it more feminine.
Speaking of concert tees, my sister and I attended the Kanye West show Saturday night at Staples (c/o KIIS FM..I won over the radio ^_^). It was such a well performed show...the stage, the set list, his wardrobe, his way of expressing his "thoughts" was inspiring. We both had a great time...not to mention our seats were killer. It was a great Saturday night.
p.s. this is our new backyard. More photos to come in the near future.
p.p.s. I LOVE the pattern of these trousers...

Remember when I posted the plaid jacket from Target on my facebook page? Well, I finally got my hands on one and I LOVE IT! The fit is great and the color combinations really makes it feel like an autumn piece. It's a "go-to" when you have black pants and a white shirt...just add a statement necklace and you're good.
p.s. I have really been into messy buns. Can you tell?
