Last Thursday, was my 27th life anniversary. I planned our trip a few months ago when I purchased concert tickets to see Atoms For Peace at the Santa Barbara Bowl on the day of my birthday. Since we were going to be up north, I then had the idea of driving further up and finally drive Highway 1 (the scenery route to go north), stop for awesome Vista Points, go to Hearst Castle, the Mystery Spot, spontaneous adventures and finally stop over in Santa Cruz. Because it was my birthday weekend, I wanted to include my "2" and "7" balloons at any place that we stopped for a fun post. Of course, one them popped in the car, due to heat in San Luis Obispo, and we didn't find a party supply store to replace it. As life would have it, we didn't have enough time to do everything on the list. John said that I wanted to do a lot in such little time (we had 3 days). We ended up stopping by Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, San Simeon Beach, Santa Cruz, Capitola, Watsonville and drive Highway 1! The Golden Coast is breathtaking. Proud to live in California. Outfit: trousers: Target; blouse, jacket: H&M (old); bag: F21 (old); shoes: Steve Madden (Gretta); sunnies: Céline We arrived in Santa Barbara late afternoon. We ate amazing Mexican food and then headed for a quick photo shoot before the show and before the sun would set completely. This is in Downtown Santa Barbara. I used an old H&M holiday ivory tulle dress and wore a chambray on top and did a knot at the bottom of the blouse. I wore a neutral waist belt to make it flow and added a statement necklace to add that chic touch. Outfit: dress, necklace: H&M; chambray: Old Navy; varsity jacket, belt: Target; shoes: ZARA; sunnies: Céline This was a Vista Point on Highway 1 in San Simeon. Elephant seals on another Vista Point. This gigantic slice of pizza is from Pizza my Heart in Santa Cruz. It was a delish piece of pie! Wish they had it down here. Mud Pie! It's coffee ice cream with Oreos and Almonds! This place is called Marianne's Ice Cream. They have a wonderful selection of ice-cream flavors. They're second popular flavor is Mud Pie. Thursday and Friday's adventures were great. Highway 1, however, was a long ride with many, many curves! Stay tuned for Sat & Sun.
Castro neighborhood in San Francisco I have decided to carry on the Instagram famous hashtag of Throwback Thursday (#tbt) on this blog. For this post, I am sharing photos from my first time in San Francisco with John back in April of 2010. It was our second trip together and we had an amazing time, despite the rain. We walked around the city and visited China Town, Haight & Ashbury, Castro, Golden Gate, downtown, and North Beach. I can definitely say that this city has art everywhere and has an ample amount of photograph opportunities. The color, the scenery, the people....I loved it! When you have a chance to go, please take your camera and document everything!
Our next stop in this trip was Liverpool, the Beatles' home town. Not only did we stay the Hard Day's Night Hotel, we also signed up for their Beatles Tour. He drove us all around town to different sights, including John Lennon's birthplace and his house, Paul's school and house, Ringo's old and new house, George's birth/home place, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, the church where Paul & John first met, Eleanor Rigby's and Father McKenzie' grave. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. our tour guide Do you want to know a secret? ,br> this is where Paul McCartney met John Lennon.
